In your life there will come a time at which you face a shocking reality: you’re starting to look, well, kind of old. There’s not much most of us wouldn’t do to look younger, but there is a line. And these 3 terrible anti-aging tips fall squarely on the wrong side of it.
Drinking a Ton of Water
Yes, we know beautiful celebrities often attribute their dewy skin to drinking oodles of water. The truth is that there are a lot of other factors at play. Like the fact that most celebrities take full advantage of all the latest anti-aging treatments. While not drinking enough water can be detrimental to your skin, going too far the other way isn’t going to do anything (except make you have to pee a lot).
Tanning to Look Younger
Drinking too much water won’t make you look younger any more than wearing five pairs of shoes will make you run faster.Maybe you love the way you look with that beachy glow. Fine, but getting there by laying out in the sun or baking in a tanning booth is actually making you look older in the long run. If you want a bit of color, there are all kinds of ways to achieve this without literally risking your life.
Doing Facial Yoga
Apparently, there’s a (totally wrong) school of thought that promotes doing facial exercises to help you look younger. The problem is that many of the most common signs of aging are actually caused by repeated facial movements. So, cross facial aerobics off your list of anti-aging tips right away.
If you want to look younger, your time could be spent much more productively. On, you know, things that actually work. Legitimate anti-aging treatments like BOTOX®, dermal fillers and laser rejuvenation are out there. So put down the gallon-size water bottle and step away from the tanning bed.
