So, you’ve had breast augmentation, your recovery is complete and you’re super keen to put the cherry on top, so to speak, with some gorgeous nipple jewelry. It’s totally understandable that you’re impatient, after all, you’re the proud owner of some fantastic new breasts, but it’s important to make sure you wait long enough before going for nipple piercings after breast augmentation.

What to Expect after Breast Augmentation

After your breast augmentation, your breasts will need a little time to recover. Don’t forget that, even though they may look fabulous, they’ve been through a lot and deserve some TLC. Generally, it’ll take around 6 weeks for your body to heal after breast augmentation and a few months for your breast implants to properly settle into place. Once the initial recovery is done, the risk of nipple piercing will be low, but you may be better waiting until your breast implants are finished adjusting to their new home. Your cosmetic surgeon may be able to be more specific with advice.

As your board-certified cosmetic surgeon is sure to have told you, recovery is a very individual thing, so there’s no set timescale after which you can do what you like to your boobs.

Nipple Jewelry after Breast Augmentation

If you’re dead set on getting some sparkles on those boobs (no need to share your reasons!), it’s basically up to you when you want to do it. From a potential infection point of view, 6 weeks should be the absolute minimum time you wait. It may also be a good idea to let your piercer know that you’re boasting newly boosted curves. The risks involved in piercing will depend on the piercer and location you choose as much as your breast implants – think cleanliness and qualifications when making your choice.
